Ah. Sunday.

I feel I have been slacking in the photos department, and realized I really was when we showed up to the concert on Friday and I forgot my camera. That is so unlike me, I am the queen of taking pictures, the one who takes photos when people think it is completely inappropriate for me to be doing so! But the show was good regardless, hot and crowded but really good, and fortunately for me they didn't cancel! And then I got an email yesterday saying their show on Saturday was, in fact, cancelled. Luckily I was going on Friday and I finally broke the cancelled concert curse.

I haven't done much this weekend, yesterday we cleaned and waited for groceries and I walked up and bought some amaretto so I could make my drink which normally only college kids drink, amaretto sour, except they don't sell amaretto or sour here, so I improvised and bought what the guy at the liquor store swore to me was amaretto but with a different name and same fanta lemon and honestly? That was pretty darn good. (Sidenote for both Lee and my parents - he asked me "so, is it cocktail night?" to which I had to inwardly laugh since Lee said cocktails and I told him that it just sounds weird to hear a guy say he wants a cocktail, to which he replied he was metrosexual. Apparently he is just British and that is what they say, male or female. And mom? The guy asked me if I had ever had a woo woo. A woo woo. Twice in one week!)

We had 6 people over for poker night and I figured out the strategy to winning, which I did by the way. Well we cashed out but since I cashed out for more than I had put in I technically won right? And it seems like my strategy of sitting out every third hand for one reason or another leaves you in the game long enough to horde the chips. Worked like a charm! Sadly, the camera failed to make an appearance last night either. I am slipping.

And today has been a strange day of bouts of sun followed by serious rain and lightening and thunder, so today I made up for the lack of Lifetime tv over here and watched downloaded Grey's Anatomy, thank God for Itunes, and National Lampoons European Vacation, which never gets old, no matter how many times I watch it. Lee and I laughed at how friendly the people in London are when the Griswalds keep hitting their cars, maybe it was ironic humor they were going for, because the London we live in would never be that friendly!

Two weeks from now...we finally booked our short holiday...and the winner is...Oslo! I really can't wait, a city neither of us have been to, and I have a sneaking feeling that the scarves and sweaters will likely have to make an appearance for this trip! Finally. And December? Vienna! For the Christmas markets, which we have never been to either. I am quite excited about the upcoming trips, if I do say so myself.

Congratulations to my good friend Kara, who got married yesterday and to whos wedding I couldn't be at. My heart was there, and I know it was fabulous. Congrats to you and Matt!

I cannot BELIEVE you forgot your camera. SHAME on you. Now I'll never get to see Embrace! Side note - I went to a party last night and had an amaretto sour TOO! How random is that??? I haven't had one in YEARS, and we both had one on the same weekend, albeit on other sides of the globe.

Maybe the British aren't real friendly when you hit the cars but the Spaniards, as you know, are very friendly. For instance, when the guy hit me with his car in July he just waved and drove off and he wasn't mad and when I hit that car in Segovia because you weren't watching I don't think the owner was bothered at all. I didn't see them chasing us.

Sissy,

I've been out of town, so today I had to catch up on all your blog entries! I'll update on Kara's wedding on my site soon. But she did make it down the aisle. Beatifully. It's making me look forward to yours!
