I don't even think I could come up with an appropriate title for this post, which I never thought I would be making.
I talk a lot about my grandmother on here, my dad's mom. She is hanging in there. I always talk about how much I admire her and how strong she is.
I don't talk very much about my other grandmother, my mom's mom. And that is a shame, I really should. Because she raised 4 daughters, and not through easy circumstances. I was never lucky enough to spend as much time with her and perhaps because of that I don't have as many stories.
We lost her today, suddenly. I was leaving the gym and Lee had sent me a text to call him, and I knew. I knew someone had died. I just never expected it was her.
I know my mom is sad, and I am sad for her. I am sad I lost a grandmother I didn't know quite as well, but who I loved just as much.
So please think of us over the next few days, as we venture out to Texas and say goodbye to my grandmother, with her red hair, who always made sure she wore lipstick, who grew up on a farm in South Dakota, who loved pot roast and Arbys and collecting things and watching her grandkids play the organ.

I'm so sorry for your loss. The loss of a grandparent is harder and it's even harder to watch our parents suffer the loss as well. My prayers are with you and your family.
