11 Months

My sweet girl,

11 months. I am teary even typing those words, because I know in a month I will be writing one year and I can't even comprehend how quickly you are growing and how fast this year has gone by.

You are, as always,  (half of) the light of my day, the love in my heart, the joy in my world. As hard as it is to watch you leave your baby days behind and march, literally, full force in toddlerhood I am in awe of the person you are becoming, and of watching your personality form, your interests expand, you become you.

What can I say about you that I haven't said before? Every single thing about you is perfect, from your amazing hair to your unfairly long eyelashes to your toothy grin to your bouncy dance to your from the gut laugh. There is no greater joy in your life than your big brother, and no matter what he is doing, whether it is knocking you to the ground or head butting you or taking your toys, you laugh.

We ask how big is Lila, and you show us SO BIG! I ask where is mama's nose, and you find it. You point and clap and bounce and walk and shake your head nonono, and say things like buh and mammm and da and you love books, although you much prefer to eat them than to read them. You are still our oral child, a fantastic eater, a food grazer, a child who will put anything in front of you in your mouth.

This next month is going to be a heart wrenching one, my moonie girl. My last month as the mom of a baby. Every single milestone brings me to tears, from your first steps (at 9 months, which, quite frankly, was way too young little miss!) to your first words to putting away your infant car seat. I know you won't remember, but if you did, please know these aren't tears of sadness, but rather tears of love, tears of pride, tears of happiness. Just give me a minute to wipe them away and remember how very lucky you were 11 months ago when you came into our world.

I love you my munchkerina. You will always be my baby girl.

Love,
Mama

I showed these photos last night at the Latin American Association and since they all have black hair they were fascinated by her red hair.
